Product description
Fabric scissors, 24 cm long: a long blade for continuous cutting
Professional scissors from the PERFECTION series by D.PERES SOLINGEN, with a total length of 24 cm and large red handles. The long blade covers a large stretch with each closing, so cutting a long straight line, such as the side of a dress or a pants leg, takes fewer closings and leaves fewer steps in the line.
The scissors are made in Solingen, Germany, with quality steel blades and a central screw joint. The red handles make the scissors easy to find on a table crowded with fabric, and also mark them as intended for fabric only.

Tips for cutting with long scissors
Straighten the fabric first: Wrinkled fabric is cut crooked. Iron it or smooth it by hand before marking
Cut from the side of the cutting hand: Walk around the table instead of moving the fabric
Close fully only at the end of the line: In the middle of a long line, close to about two thirds and continue
Keep for fabric only: Paper dulls the blades
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Long scissors for small curves: In a narrow neckline or corners it is more comfortable to switch to shorter scissors
Lifting the fabric off the table: The fabric stretches and the line drifts
Cutting pins by mistake: Cutting a pin makes a small nick in the blade. Remove pins from the cutting line in advance
How to know when fabric scissors need sharpening
Even good fabric scissors dull over time. These are the signs that it's time to sharpen:
The fabric gets chewed: Instead of a clean cut, the edge comes out frayed or jagged
The fabric folds between the blades: Mainly in thin fabrics such as chiffon and lining
The tip doesn't cut: The last centimeter of the blade no longer cuts a single thread
You have to press hard: Cutting takes more force than before
Before sharpening, it is worth checking the screw: sometimes tightening it slightly is enough. If that doesn't help, hand the scissors to a professional sharpener.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the length of the scissors?
The total length is 24 cm.
What are 24 cm scissors suitable for?
For cutting long, straight lines in fabric, such as dress sides, pant legs, curtains and linings, with fewer closings.
Where are the scissors made?
In Solingen, Germany, in the PERFECTION series by D.PERES SOLINGEN.
What is the difference between the 24 cm model and the 26 cm model from the same series?
The 26 cm model is 2 cm longer and suits layers and thick fabrics better. The 24 cm model is slightly lighter in the hand during long work.
Can I cut denim with them?
Yes. The long blade and the large handles also suit thick fabrics such as denim and wool. With many layers, cut slowly and not with force.
What does the SOLINGEN marking mean?
Solingen is a city in Germany associated with the manufacture of scissors and knives. The name is protected by German law, and only products whose main production takes place in the city's area may carry it.
Why are scissors with red handles worthwhile?
A prominent color is easy to find on a table crowded with fabrics, and it is also a simple way to signal to everyone working in the studio that these scissors are for fabric only.
Are the scissors suitable for left-handed users?
The model is built for the right hand. Someone who cuts with the left hand will prefer dedicated left-handed scissors, in which the blade order is reversed.
Can the scissors be sharpened?
Yes. Sharpening at a professional sharpener who knows sewing scissors is recommended, to keep the blade angle and the closing all the way to the tip.
Can I order a quantity for a workshop or a store?
Yes. For bulk orders of D.PERES scissors, you can contact us.
