Product description
Long glass hairpins for thick fabrics and multi-layers
Prym sewing pins are 48 mm long and 0.80 mm thick, with a round white glass head. The body is made of toughened steel and the tip is thin and sharp. The length allows you to hold several layers of fabric at once, and the thickness keeps the pin straight even in dense fabrics. According to the manufacturer, the glass head is heat-resistant, so you can iron with the pins in the fabric. Packaging: 30 grams of pins in a clear plastic box with a lid.
Common Uses
Quilting: Connecting the layers of patches, filling and lining before sewing.
Thick fabrics: denim, wool for coats, corduroy and upholstery fabrics.
Atlining a piece of paper on your own before cutting.
Hems of curtains and home fabrics.
Sticking on a modeling doll in a garment with several layers, like a coat with a lining.
Who is it suitable for
Quilt and patchwork seamstresses, tailors who work with coat and suit fabrics, curtain and upholstery seamstresses, and fashion students. When working on several layers, one long pin replaces a few short pins. For a wholesale order to the studio, school or store: phone 03-9444226 or WhatsApp 055-2473993.
Pro Tips
The quilt is pressed from the center outwards, so that the layers do not move and wrinkles do not form.
In a thick fabric, the pin is moved in and out only once. This way it is stable and does not deform the fabric.
A prominent white head on a dark fabric. When working on a light fabric, the pins are counted before and after.
Keep the box closed and in a dry place.
Common mistakes
Thick pin in delicate fabrics such as silk and chiffon. It may leave a visible hole, and that's where a thin pin is preferable.
Machine sewing over a pin, which may break the needle.
Ironing directly over the pin, which leaves a mark on the fabric.
How is this model different
This is the longest and thickest of our white glass headpins, in a large 30g package. For fine work in thin fabrics there is a shorter and thinner version: 30×0.60mm in a 10g package. Pins with colored heads are found in pearland plaid head pins, and all steel pins are concentrated insteel sewing pins.

Yes. At 48 mm long, they hold together the layers of patchwork, filling, and lining.
Can I iron with the pins in the fabric?
Yes. According to the manufacturer, the glass head is heat-resistant and will not melt when ironed. It is best not to iron directly over the pin, so as not to leave a mark on the fabric.

How many pins are in the box?
The box is sold by weight: 30 grams of pins.

What is the difference between them and the 30mm glass headpins?
These are longer and thicker, 48×0.80 mm, for thick fabrics and several layers. Short and thin 30×0.60 mm pins, for gentle work on thin fabrics.
Can we stick them in a prototype doll?
Yes. In a prototype mannequin with a cover designed for sticking, the pin passes through the layers of fabric and is caught in the cover.
