Product description
60-degree triangular ruler for cutting patchwork shapes
A 20 cm Primom Omnigrid triangle-shaped patchwork ruler is made of clear and strong plastic with yellow and black markings, so you can see the fabric underneath it and read the lines on a coloured fabric as well. The ruler is built for 60° and 30° angled parts: triangles, half triangles, rhombus, trapezoids and hexagons. Included is a manual for basic cutting techniques.
What to cut with it
Equilateral triangles for quilts in a triangle pattern.
Triangular halves (30°) to close the rows at the edges of the blanket.
Rhombuses for star and cube specimens.
Trapezoids for stripes and frames.
Hexagons such as a hive.
How to work with it
Cut a strip of fabric first to the desired height width of the triangle. Place the ruler on the strip, with the appropriate elevation line aligned with the edge of the strip, and cut along both sides with a round cutting knife. Turn the ruler over with each cut, and thus you get a continuous row of triangles with almost no waste of fabric.
Who is it suitable for
Patchwork and quilt seamstresses, patchwork classes, studios and sewing schools. Anyone who has switched from cardboard molds to cutting with a round knife will save a lot of time here, because several layers are cut at once. For wholesale orders to the studio, class or store: phone 03-9444226 or WhatsApp 055-2473993.
Pro Tips
Work on a designated cutting surface, with a sharp round knife.
Hold the ruler in the palm of your hand outstretched, away from the cutting line, and cut in one motion away from the body.
The size on the ruler is the size of the fabric cut. Calculate the seam insert before cutting.
Keep the ruler flat and away from a heat source, and clean with water and mild soap.
Common mistakes
Align according to the edge of the ruler instead of the elevation line marked on it.
Forgetting the addition of the seam, which reduces the block after sewing.
Uneven pressure on the ruler, which causes it to move in the middle of the cut.
How is this model different
It is a ruler for angles of 60° and 30°. For cutting squares and rectangles and straightening blocks, the Omnigrid square bar is suitable for 20×20 cm. Straight bars for cutting strips are found in cuttingand quilting bars.
