What is a crewel needle
A crewel needle is a sharp-pointed embroidery needle that pierces dense woven fabrics such as linen, cotton and poplin, with a long eye that takes several strands of embroidery thread without wearing them. It suits freehand embroidery, crewel embroidery with wool yarn and embroidery on clothing.
Common uses
Freehand embroidery with stranded embroidery floss.
Crewel embroidery with fine wool yarn.
Embroidery on clothes, tablecloths and towels.
Monograms and names.
Embroidery on linen and cotton fabric.
Who it's for

Pro tips
Match the needle size to the number of strands: more strands, bigger needle.
Work with thread about 40 cm long so it doesn't tangle or fray.
Return the needle to its pack at the end of the work.
Common mistakes
Embroidering on Aida cloth with a sharp needle. For cross stitch, a blunt needle is suitable.
Thread too thick for the eye. It wears and breaks.
How this model differs
In size 7 all the needles are identical. For mixed sizes there is a pack in sizes 3 to 9. All embroidery needles are in Embroidery needles.
