Product description

Plastic garment bag: the simplest protection for a hanging garment

Sometimes all you need is one thin layer between the garment and the dust: when a finished piece is waiting for a customer on the rack, when you hand over a suit after alterations, or when a winter coat hangs in the closet until next season. A clear plastic garment bag does exactly that. It is light, it takes up no space, and you can see the garment through it at a glance.

The bag is made of clear polyethylene (PE) 8 microns thick, that is, 0.008 mm. It has an opening at the top for the hanger hook to pass through, so the garment stays hanging as usual and the bag slides down around it. There is no zipper and no handles, so you can cover a garment in seconds and take the bag off just as fast.

A range of sizes by garment length

  • 75×45 cm: The widest and shortest bag in the series. Suitable for children's clothing and for garments folded over a hanger.

  • 60×90 cm: Button-up shirts, blazers and jackets.

  • 60×100 cm: Long jackets, suits and hanging pants.

  • 60×120 cm: A full suit, a knee-length dress and a short coat.

  • 60×140 cm: Long coats and maxi dresses.

For evening gowns and extra-long wedding dresses, and also for long-term storage, a breathable fabric cover 180 cm long from the Dress and suit covers category is better.

How this bag differs from our other covers

The PE bag is a single thin, clear layer with no zipper. It is meant for dust protection, for handing over garments and for a tidy look on the rack. If you need a thicker cover for repeated use and travel, you can choose the semi-transparent PEVA cover with a full zipper. For long-term storage of expensive garments, a non-woven fabric cover is more suitable.

Common uses

  • Handing a garment to a customer: After repair, sewing, pressing or cleaning, the garment goes out covered and clean.

  • Store or stockroom rack: Keeps hanging stock free of dust, and you can still see the style and color without opening it.

  • Home closet: Separates seasonal clothes from clothes in use and keeps suits and event dresses clean between wearings.

  • Moving house: The clothes move on their hangers, covered, and go straight into the new closet.

  • Sewing and studio work: Garments in progress wait for fitting protected, and each one can be identified from the outside.

Who it's for

  • Laundries and dry cleaners that hand over dozens of garments a day.

  • Seamstresses, tailors and clothing repairers.

  • Fashion stores and boutiques with hanging stock.

  • Bridal salons and clothing rental stores, for handover and return.

  • Households that want an orderly closet and clean clothes throughout the season.

Professional tips

  • Measure from the hanger, not the shoulder: Measure from the top of the hanger to the hem of the garment, and choose a bag about 10 cm longer so the hem doesn't stick out at the bottom.

  • 60 cm width for most garments: This width fits a standard adult hanger. For a short garment on a wide hanger, the 75×45 size gives more room in width.

  • Cover only dry, cooled garments: A garment that is still warm from pressing or damp from washing will create moisture inside the bag.

  • A good hanger keeps the shape: The bag protects from dust, but the shape of the shoulders is preserved by a suitable hanger, especially for coats and jackets.

  • Organize by size: In a store or laundry, it is worth keeping several sizes on hand so each garment gets the bag that fits it.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving a garment in a plastic bag for months: PE does not breathe. For long-term storage, especially of wool, silk and cotton, switch to a breathable fabric cover.

  • Choosing a bag that is too short: The hem of the garment stays exposed to dust and is the first to get dirty.

  • Expecting the strength of a zippered cover: This is a thin bag for light use. For frequent carrying and travel, a thicker cover is more suitable.

  • Cramming many garments into one bag: One garment per bag means fewer wrinkles and quicker identification.

Safety warning

Thin plastic bag. Keep away from babies and small children due to the risk of suffocation.

Frequently asked questions

How thick are the plastic garment bags?

The thickness is 8 microns, which is 0.008 mm. It is a thin, light PE bag intended for dust protection and for handing over garments, not for intensive reuse.

Which size suits a suit and which a coat?

For a full suit the 60×120 cm size is suitable, and for a jacket only 60×90 or 60×100 cm is enough. For a long coat, choose 60×140 cm. Rule of thumb: take a bag about 10 cm longer than the distance from the top of the hanger to the hem of the garment.

Is the bag suitable for a long evening dress?

The long bag in the series is 60×140 cm and suits maxi dresses of regular length. For a longer evening or wedding dress, and especially for a full-skirted dress, a 180 cm cover with a gusset from the dress covers category is better.

Can clothes be stored in a plastic bag for a long time?

For a short to medium period, yes. For storage of months, a breathable fabric cover is better, because PE doesn't let air pass through, and moisture trapped inside may damage fabrics such as wool, silk and cotton.

Can I order bags in bulk for a store or a laundry?

Yes. The bags are sold individually, and you can order any quantity and mix sizes. For regular orders and wholesale, contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, and we will arrange supply according to the sizes you need.

Why does the bag have no zipper?

The bag is intended for quickly covering a garment on a hanger, for example in a store, a laundry or a sewing workshop. Insert the garment from below and pull the hook out of the top opening, without opening and closing.

What is the 75×45 cm size suitable for?

This is a wide, short size, which covers the top part of the garment and the shoulders, the place where most of the dust collects on a hanging garment.

Can I use a bag more than once?

The bag is thin, 8 microns, so it is intended mainly for single or short-term use. For reuse, a garment cover with a zipper is more suitable.

How do I put a garment into the bag?

Hang the garment on a hanger, pass the hanger hook through the top opening and pull the bag down over the garment.

What is the difference between a plastic bag and a garment cover with a zipper?

A plastic bag is simple, temporary protection from dust. A non-woven cover with a zipper breathes, is closed on all sides and suits long-term storage and repeated use.
