Children's display mannequins for kids' clothing stores, chains and designers
Parents buy clothes for a child when they can picture them on the child. Kids' clothing folded on a shelf looks small and flat. On a children's display mannequin of the right height and build, you can see how the garment falls, how long it is and how it works with the other pieces. In this category you'll find children's display mannequins for various ages, for shop windows, in-store displays and kids' fashion photography. This category is part of the display mannequins category.
Types of children's display mannequins
Full-body child mannequin – for showing a complete look, from shirt to trousers and shoes. This is the most common choice for a shop window.
Baby and toddler mannequins – for bodysuits, rompers and baby sets. Some come in a sitting pose, so they can be placed on a surface, shelf or display table.
Kids' torso (upper body) – for shirts, dresses and sweatshirts. It takes up less space and suits a counter, shelf or wall.
Abstract or faceless head – a clean, minimalist look that keeps the garment at the centre and suits any store style.
How to choose a child mannequin by age and height
The most important rule: the mannequin's height should match the sizes the store sells. In European children's sizing, the number on the label is the child's height in centimetres. Size 116 is meant for a child about 116 cm tall, and size 140 for a child 140 cm tall. So it's best to choose a mannequin whose height is close to the store's best-selling sizes.
Babies and toddlers (up to age 2) – small mannequins, usually up to about 90 cm
Ages 3 to 5 – about 95 to 110 cm
Ages 6 to 8 – about 115 to 130 cm
Ages 9 to 12 – about 135 to 150 cm
Teens – over 150 cm, also suitable for bar and bat mitzvah outfits
If the store sells a wide range of ages, two or three mannequins of different heights create a group in the shop window. That way the whole size range is visible at a glance, and the display looks planned and professional.
Material, base and finish
Fibreglass or plastic
Fibreglass mannequins give a polished look and a smooth finish. They are relatively heavy and stable, which makes them especially suitable for shop windows. Plastic mannequins are lighter and easy to move for frequent display changes. They are also more resistant to handling and falls – an advantage in a store where children wander around.
Base and stability
In a kids' clothing store, young customers touch the mannequins, pull on them and lean against them. So it's worth choosing a wide, heavy base made of glass or metal. The base connects to the mannequin with a rod, through the foot or the calf. Either way, it's best to position the mannequin so it doesn't stand in the main aisle.
Detachable arms and head
Children's clothes often have narrow necklines and sleeves. A mannequin with detachable arms, and sometimes a detachable head as well, lets you dress it and change outfits quickly without stretching the fabric.
Finish and colour
Glossy white, matte white, cream or black. A uniform, minimalist finish brings out the colours and prints of children's clothing and keeps the look clean and upscale.
Common uses
Shop window – seasonal display changes: back to school, holidays, summer and winter
In-store display – next to racks and shelves, to show how pieces come together into one look
Product photography – for online kids' fashion stores, with a neutral pose and consistent dimensions across all shots
Special occasions – bar and bat mitzvah outfits, flower-girl dresses and boys' suits
Fairs and exhibitions – a mannequin that's easy to transport is an advantage when setting up and taking down a display
Wholesale purchasing for stores and chains
A chain with several branches needs a uniform display: the same model, the same finish and the same heights in every branch. We also sell wholesale to stores, chains and interior designers, and offer personal advice on choosing a series that fits your size range and store design. In addition to mannequins, we offer professional store display equipment. For a price quote, contact us.
Completing the display
A store that also sells adult clothing can build a complete family display with women's display mannequins and men's display mannequins. Inside the store, add children's hangers in the right size and display hangers. For occasion wear there are dress and suit covers, which protect the garment until it's handed over.
Designers and dressmakers of children's clothing who need a form for pinning and fitting, not just for display, will find what they're looking for in children's dress forms. Before choosing, it's also worth reading the guide to choosing a dress form. Information on delivery times is on the shipping and returns page.

Frequently asked questions
What height of children's display mannequin suits my store?
Choose according to the sizes the store sells. In European children's sizes, the number on the label is the child's height in cm, for example size 116 for a child about 116 cm tall. If most sales are for ages 6 to 8, a form about 115 to 130 cm tall will suit. If the store sells a wide range, you can combine two or three forms at different heights.
What is the difference between a fiberglass children's display mannequin and a plastic one?
A fiberglass form is heavier and more stable, with a smooth, meticulous finish, so it is especially suitable for a shop window. A plastic form is lighter, easy to move and more resistant to touch and falls. This is an advantage in a store where children walk around and in a display that changes frequently.
Is it easy to dress a child's display mannequin?
Yes, if you choose a form with removable arms. Children's clothes have narrow necklines and sleeves, so it is easier to take off the arms, dress the body and then put them back. In some models the head is also removable, which makes changing the display even easier.
When is a children's torso better and when a full-body form?
A full-body form suits a shop window and displaying a complete look, from top to shoes. A torso (upper body) suits shirts, dresses and sweatshirts. It takes up less space and can be placed on a counter, a shelf or next to the racks.
Can children's display mannequins be ordered in quantities for a chain of stores?
Yes. We also sell wholesale to stores and chains, and offer advice on choosing a uniform series of models, heights and finish for all branches. Delivery is nationwide, and you can get a quote through the Contact page or on WhatsApp.
How do I clean a display mannequin?
A soft, damp cloth with a little mild soap. Do not use abrasives, solvents or polishes, which could damage the finish.
How do you choose clothes for a children's display mannequin?
Measure the form's height and chest circumference, and compare to the size chart of the garments in the store. Garments in the size that matches the form's height sit on it naturally.
How many children's forms should I place?
In a small window one or two are enough. In a large window you can place forms at different heights, displaying a collection for several ages.
Can I photograph products for an online store on a display mannequin?
Yes. The form gives the garment the shape of a body, and you photograph it against a plain background and in soft light. A matte finish is better, because it doesn't reflect light into the camera.
How do I transport and store a display mannequin?
Take the form apart into pieces, if possible: body, post and base. Wrap each part in soft fabric or bubble wrap, and store in a dry place, away from direct sun and heat sources.
