Prym Safety Pin 57 mm Long
The largest pin in the Prym safety pin series: 57 mm, hardened steel. It holds thick layers of fabric, felt and padding, and keeps its shape under load. The pins come in a Prym box of 1000 pieces, and are sold individually or as a whole box.
A safety pin is made of a single piece of wire: an arm with a point, a spring loop, and a cap in which the point locks. On Prym pins the cap has no sharp edges, the point is polished and the spring is balanced, so the pin closes easily and stays closed.

On towels and bed linen, pin through folded edges, where the fabric is stronger.
Open it with your thumb on the spring loop, not by pulling the arm.
Remove the pins before washing. In industrial laundry, put the items in a mesh bag.
Common mistakes
Using a 57 mm pin on thin fabric. It is too heavy and leaves a big hole.
Closing it over layers that don't fit. An over-stretched arm opens by itself.
