Why does a modeling doll need accessories
The modeling doll is the base, but most of the precision in the work comes from the accessories around it. An arm allows the model to have a sleeve on the body, marking a hem creates a straight edge at all heights, cut glue marks the structural lines of the cut, and a stable stand with wheels keeps the doll in place and allows it to be moved in the studio. A proper spare part also extends the life of the doll: instead of replacing an entire doll due to a broken stand or a worn adjustment pulley, only the part is replaced.
Types of props and parts for modeling dolls
Stands, bases and wheels
A wooden tripod stand, an adjustable metal post or a base with wheels. Wheels with locks allow the doll to be moved between the cutting table and the machine and lock it while working, and a height-adjustable post allows the shoulder line to be placed at the customer's height.
Arm for a modeling mannequin
A padded fabric arm that attaches to the shoulder and allows you to model and measure sleeves, jackets and coats on the doll. It sticks to pins like the body itself, and adds or subtracts it as needed.
Marking a multiplier
A hem marker stands on the floor next to the doll and marks the height of the hem at a constant distance from the floor, so that the hem comes out straight in the entire circumference, even in a flared skirt or a long evening dress.
Covers & Pads
Replacement fabric cover renews a doll whose fabric has worn out, and pads allow a doll to fit a fixed size to a particular client's body, add volume in the chest, thighs or shoulders, and model to real sizes.
Adjustment Pulleys & Spare Parts
In adjustable dolls, the adjustment pulleys and internal mechanism work hard. A replacement pulley, a neck stopper, or a screw for the stand put the mannequin back to work. To choose a suitable part, it is recommended to check the model, column diameter and base type, and contact us with a photo if there is any doubt.
Cut glue, pins and measuring tapes
The small accessories used in each sampling: line marking cut glue on a modeling mannequin to mark waistline, busts, princess stitches and cleavage, steel sewing pins andpearl hairpins to stick to the doll, andtapes to measure the doll and client.
How to choose an accessory or part for a modeling doll
Mannequin type: padded pin pin doll, adjustable mannequin with pulleys, or rigid display doll. Not every accessory is suitable for every type.
Size & Model: Arm, cover and pads are selected according to the size of the doll, and spare parts according to the exact model.
Attach to a stand: Check the column diameter and connection method before changing a stand or base.
Type of work: For evening dresses and bridal marker hem is almost mandatory, and for jackets and coats, an arm saves repeat measurements.
Before adjusting or upholstering the doll, you should measure the body according to the guide on how to take body measurements for sewing, and the adjustment itself is explained by the instructor on how to adjust an adjustable modeling doll.

Frequently asked questions
How do you know which spare part is suitable for my modeling doll?
Check the model of the doll, its size, the diameter of the column and the type of base, tripod, metal column or base with wheels. If there is no clear marking on the doll, send us a picture of the doll and the part that needs to be replaced and we will help find a suitable part.
Why do you need an arm for a modeling doll?
An arm for a modeling mannequin allows you to model and measure sleeves , jackets and coats on the doll, to check the fall of the sleeve and the shoulder line without measuring each time on its client. It attaches to the shoulder, pins it and takes it off when it is not needed.
What is cut glue and why do you mark lines on the doll with it?
Cutout glue, also called style tape, is a thin, flexible duct tape that is glued to the modeling mannequin to mark structural lines such as waist, bust line, princess stitches, and cleavage. You can take it off and re-glue until the line is accurate, and then transfer it to the cut paper.
