Product description
Prym Safety Pin, 27 mm Long
A 27 mm safety pin made of hardened steel, the everyday size in the Prym series. It holds two layers of medium fabric with no effort, yet is small enough not to weigh down the garment. The pins come in a Prym box of 1000 pieces, and are sold per piece or as a whole box.
A safety pin is made of a single piece of metal wire: an arm with a point, a spring loop, and a cap in which the point locks. In Prym pins the cap has no sharp edges, the point is polished and the spring is balanced, so the pin closes easily and stays closed.
Common uses
Holding pattern pieces and layers together before sewing.
Temporarily closing a hem, a slit or a pocket.
Holding quilt layers together before stitching, in small areas.
Attaching bib numbers to a shirt in races and sports events.
Labeling clothes in kindergarten, youth movements and summer camp.
Who it is for
Tailor shops and studios, home sewers, sewing teachers, race organizers and events that need a quantity of pins in one size. For wholesale orders: phone 03-9444226 or WhatsApp 055-2473993.
Professional tips
In a quilt, pin every 10 to 15 cm, from the top fabric layer through the batting to the bottom fabric, and close.
For bib numbers, pin at the corners of the sheet, through paper and shirt, so the number does not flap.
Keep the box closed and dry so the plating and the point are preserved.
Common mistakes
Forcing it closed over layers that are too thick. The arm bends and the pin no longer locks well.
Pulling it out without opening it first. The point drags the fibers and makes a large hole.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the length of a Prym size 0 safety pin?
27 mm. At other manufacturers, size 0 can be 23 mm, so it is always worth checking the length in millimeters.
Why is a 27 mm pin considered the everyday size?
It catches two layers of medium fabric, closes easily and is small enough not to stand out. It suits most work in sewing and at home.
Can the 27 mm pins be used for race bib numbers?
Yes. Four pins at the corners hold the number on the shirt without tearing the paper.
Are 27 mm pins suitable for pinning a quilt?
Yes, for small areas and thin batting. For a thicker quilt, choose 38 mm, which catches all the layers comfortably.
Can I buy the pins individually rather than a whole box?
Yes. The pins are sold individually, and you can also buy a sealed box of 1000 pins.
Do Prym pins rust?
They are coated with an anti-rust coating. With prolonged moisture, any steel pin may rust, so keep them dry in a closed box.
What distinguishes Prym safety pins?
According to the manufacturer, the cap has no sharp edges, the point is polished and passes through the fabric gently, and the spring is balanced so the pin opens and closes easily over time.
How do I choose a safety pin size?
According to the thickness of the fabric and the number of layers: 19 to 23 mm for thin fabric and tagging, 27 to 38 mm for everyday work and elastic, and 50 to 57 mm for thick fabrics and wide elastic.
Can I order several boxes for a business?
Yes. We supply whole boxes for sewing workshops, laundries, stores and events. Phone 03-9444226 or WhatsApp 055-2473993.
What is written on the manufacturer's box?
The Prym item number, the size number, the quantity (1000), the type of steel and a barcode. This makes it easy to reorder exactly the same pin.
