Product description
Women's sewing dress form on a wooden stand: a work tool that also looks good on display
A women's sewing dress form in a fixed size, with a body padded in cream-colored fabric, on a natural wood stand with a three-legged tripod base. The central pole is height-adjustable, so you can set the form at a comfortable height for working standing or seated. At the top of the form there is a shaped wooden cap, in the same finish as the stand.
The form comes in two sizes, and each is a fixed size with defined measurements. Size S: bust circumference 82 cm, waist 61 cm and hips 79 cm. Size M: bust circumference 86 cm, waist 64 cm and hips 84 cm. These are net body measurements, and that is also how you should measure the form when building a pattern on it: the garment's ease is added on top of these measurements.
The cover is a fabric with a fine texture, suited to working with pins. You can push pins into it to hold fabric, mark seam lines, attach marking tapes and check the drape, without the fabric sliding off the body.
Common uses
Fitting and adjustment: Checking a pattern, setting the waistline and puffs, marking hems and fitting a garment before final sewing.
Draping: Shaping fabric directly on the body, to build a pattern in three dimensions without drawing it on paper first.
Store display: Showing dresses, shirts, skirts and accessories in a shop window, next to the register or on a shelf.
Product photography: Photographing clothes for a website and social media. The cream shade and natural wood give a neutral background that doesn't compete with the garment.
Interior design: A decorative piece in a studio, a work room or a bedroom, that keeps the character of a classic sewing workshop.
Who the form is for
Home sewists: Those who sew for themselves or family members and need a steady working body instead of repeated fittings on a person.
Fashion design students: A fixed, clear size for fitting exercises, draping and a portfolio.
Designers and fashion studios: An additional work station next to the main dress form, or a dedicated form for photographing the collection.
Clothing stores and boutiques: A display in soft shades that blends into a clean, minimalist design.
Bridal and evening salons: Showing dresses and outer layer items in a careful display.

Professional tips for working with the form
How to choose between S and M
Measure the bust, waist and hip circumferences of the person the clothes are being sewn for, and compare to the size table. When the measurements fall between the two sizes, choose the smaller of them and pad: adding padding layers to a form is simple, whereas reducing a form that is too large is not possible.
Marking lines
Before fitting, it is worth marking reference lines on the form with narrow marking tape: waistline, bustline, center front line and center back line. This lets you check symmetry and transfer measurements to the pattern exactly.
Working height
Adjust the form's height so its waistline is roughly at your elbow height. That way you work on the upper part without bending and without raising your arms for a long time.
Pins
Push the pins in at a sharp angle and not perpendicular. That way they hold the fabric better and leave a smaller mark in the cover.
Common mistakes
Choosing by garment size instead of by circumferences: Garment sizes vary between manufacturers. What matters is the bust, waist and hip circumference in centimeters.
Expecting a fixed-size form to adjust in circumference: This form adjusts in height only. Someone who needs to change circumferences between different clients needs an adjustable dress form with dials.
Sewing a garment exactly to the form's measurements: The form's measurements are body measurements. A garment sewn without ease will be too tight on a person, whose body moves and breathes.
Loading heavy clothes at maximum height: A heavy coat or a dress with a train puts weight on the pole. At a lower height the form is more stable.
Exposing the form to direct sun for a long time: A light-colored fabric may fade or yellow. In a shop window it is recommended to change its position now and then.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between size S and size M in this form?
Size S: bust 82 cm, waist 61 cm, hips 79 cm, shoulders 36 cm. Size M: bust 86 cm, waist 64 cm, hips 84 cm, shoulders 39 cm. The difference is about 3 to 5 cm in each circumference. Choose according to the circumferences of the person the garments are being sewn for, and not according to the garment size she wears.
Can I stick pins into the form?
Yes. The body is padded and covered with a fabric suitable for pinning, so you can secure fabric to it, mark lines and work in draping. It is recommended to insert the pins at a sharp angle so they hold well and leave a small mark in the covering.
Is the form adjustable in circumferences?
No. This is a fixed-size form that adjusts in height only, using the central post in the stand. Someone who needs to change bust, waist and hip circumferences between different clients needs an adjustable dress form with dials. Someone sewing for one fixed size can also enlarge the form with padding.
What is the stand made of, and how stable is it?
The stand is made of wood in a natural finish, and at its base is a three-legged tripod that spreads the weight and holds the form stably on the floor. When hanging heavy garments on the form, it is worth lowering it to a lower height to improve stability.
Is the form suitable for in-store display and product photography?
Yes. The combination of cream-colored fabric and a natural wood stand gives a soft, neutral look that makes the garment stand out in a shop window and in photography for the website. It suits boutiques, bridal salons and studios, and you can order several units for a uniform display. For details about a wholesale order, contact us.
How do I know which size to choose, S or M?
Compare the bust, waist and hip circumferences in the chart to the client's measurements or to the pattern you are working with. When the measurements are in the middle, choose the smaller size and add padding in the wider areas.
What is the advantage of a wooden tripod?
Three legs stand stably even on a floor that is not completely level, and the natural wood gives the form a warm look that also suits display in a store and a studio.
Is the form suitable for sewing beginners?
Yes. A fixed-size form with a body for pinning is a good learning tool: you see how the garment sits on a body, and mark adjustments with pins.
What height should the form be set to while working?
Set it so that the form's shoulder line is at the height of the client's shoulders. This way the garment length and the hem are checked as on the body itself.
How do I take care of the form's fabric cover?
Cover the form when you are not working on it, clean light stains with a damp cloth and mild soap, and remove the pins at the end of the work.
